A 1 Day Akagera National Park Game Drive to Akagera National Park takes you on an exciting adventure to explore Rwanda’s only savanna park, located in the eastern part of the country along the border with Tanzania. This park offers the unique opportunity for a safari game drive, the only one of its kind in Rwanda. Akagera National Park is home to the Big Five, with the recent reintroduction of lions. It hosts a diverse range of mammal species, including elephants, giraffes, hippos, kobs, zebras, bushbucks, and waterbucks. Additionally, black rhinos were recently introduced from South Africa, restoring Akagera’s status as a Big Five park, just as it was many years ago
Early morning (5AM) You will be picked up from your Hotel and proceed to Akagera national park.
Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will have a briefing at the park Headquarters collect your lunch boxes at Akagera Game Lodge. You will embark on a game drive viewing enroute to Lake Ihema. You will visit the hippo pool, Giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero.
