1 Day Nyungwe National Park Safari: Nyungwe is the primate hub of Rwanda which will give you access to a number of different primate species from the dominant species the chimpanzees, in the park you will also get to access a number of monkey species all of which will give you the most rewarding safari experience. in this itinerary, you will start your safari experience from Butare to transfer you to Nyungwe National Park. On reaching the park, you will present your chimpanzee trekking permit for verification and later go for a briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours. On finding them, spend an hour taking pictures and videos. You will then return to your hotel to freshen up, have lunch check out, and later in the afternoon participate in After lunch, you will go on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to see the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, spotting wildlife moving about below you there after the safari experience, you will then be transferred back to Butare city to mark.
At 6:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel/apartment in Kigali towards Nyungwe National Park, South West of Rwanda. The distance between Kigali and Nyungwe National park is approximately 230 Km, and the duration for a trip is between 5-6 hours, including a stopover for grabbing coffee on the way to the park. By reaching the Uwinka visitor’s center in Nyungwe, registration will be done and have a lunch there. After you will go for the canopy walk tour to over view the beauty of this tropical rainforest, beautiful hills, tea plantations, impenetrable areas. After that experience, we will drive back to Kigali to your hotel / apartment.
